In my Sydney post yesterday, I shared with you that we were
involved in a silent auction to benefit the Island Gospel children in Apia,
Samoa…a port we’ll visit on Monday, November 24th. One of the items
on the auction block was “Marriage Vow Renewals” to include the ceremony,
flowers, wedding cake, & champagne toasts with the Captain. We ultimately
conceded to a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and
while we both felt disappointed, we knew in our hearts it was the right thing
to do.
Today we were contacted by the Front Office who informed us
the Cruise Director decided to award not one, but TWO wedding packages! We’ve
been given several ‘wedding’ dates to choose from based on the Captain’s
availability. We were asked for a primary date & two other options. First
choice is on Thanksgiving Day – second choice, November 28 – third choice,
December 4th.
To our five children…although your Mom & Dad have known
each other for 30 years and married for 28, we love each other more with each
passing day. This ceremony is an outward expression of inward feelings…to not only demonstrate our love &
devotion for each other, but to each one of you as well. We are a family unit,
and always will be.
Families are forever…
